Movie Rating Formula ?

ZASBO THOUGHT
As discussed in 'All Time Best movies' topic, movie rating formula can be anything but commonly accepted. An example is given here.

Every single movie can be rated on scale of 100 points. These points can be distributed among the most important factors like :

1] Direction - It's very important as it is the process which directs most of the things from casting to lights, script to technical effects, art to action. Bad direction can fail great acting and story.

2] Cinematography - This process is responsible for the smooth flow of the script, acting, scenes and every other things which viewer can see in movie. It consists of camera, light and photography. Even great acting, direction and script or story look awkward without a nice Cinematography.

3] Script and Story - What a useless acting and direction if the script is not good.

4] Background Score or Music - It is the most important factor which boost up direction, cinematography, script and acting. It is the one which produces any type of feeling or understanding of emotion, action, art and the theme of the story.

5] Acting - Great movies can be made without good actors or even without actors. But present scenario tells that most of the movies of today need actors. And acting of these actors make people understand the theme of the movie better or produce emotions in heart. Emotions in the form of smile, sorrow, anger etc.

Other important factors :
1] Dialog - It makes the theme of movie clear and understandable. It makes people either to think or enjoy.

2] Editing - After everything, editing is done to make movie look perfect. And also to smoothen the flow of script.

Other factors are Art, action, Light, Technical Effects etc.
  • 10 points can be given to each of first 5 factors.
  • 20 points to all other factors combined.
  • And 30 points should be left upon critics and viewers combined.
    So total = 5*10 + 20 + 30 = 100

This is just an example. Any such widely and commonly accepted formula can be formed.
